shall we, shan't we?

We went to my beloved Whitstable yesterday and spent a glorious sunny day there. The sea seemed very calm and it felt a very peaceful day!
We came away seriously thinking of moving there - even bought the local paper and sat on the beach trawling it to see if there was anything!
OK, we aren't going to sell up in the next few months - not the way the world is going right now! Maybe buy something small for holiday lets and our weekends + holidays. Then once we feel we are sure we go for it!
Sound good?
Trouble is there are no houses on the market - well not many anyway. We are going to sit tight for now and see what the next 6 months brings............
can I wait?
Noooo!
I'll just have to make do with days out and the odd school holiday there!

Oh, how the weather has turned!

Today I am home all day until I have to go out for my piano lesson and picking the little men up. So I am having a clear out and have gone into the depths of my wardrobe. It got to the point where I could move nothing on the rails and so gave up and clothes were kept at the bottom of the wardrobe - I know, what a slob!
It's hard to be ruthless but the time has come - Oxfam will do very well out of me!

Next will be the shoes and I think it's time my birkenstocks went away and make way for shoes and boots - although I think a shopping trip is required!
And I have an urge for new socks!

So the summer clothes are away and I have rediscovered some lovely jumpers and some winter skirts, I just might have to change into something warmer to go out in now.

Do not judge me on the orange pine and the 'what do you call that colour' of a shag pile carpet!
It is on the to do list !!
See all those empty hangers??

Luckily with the evenings getting colder it has been a great time for quilting. Yes, every night I have been slaving and these are my friends!

forgotten show + tells

Not that I've been keeping these from you but these are some of the things I've made that I never got round to show and telling! Some are recent makes whilst others are nearly a year old!

These I made whilst away in Norfolk a few weeks ago. They are Heather Bailey's 'La Fleur Debris' brooches.

This is an apron I made for a friends Birthday - she's a great baker!

A chicken doorstop!

A dog! Just thought it was so cute and reminds me of Moo Moo!

This was an angel I made for Mum last Christmas. I'm not really one for making softies but she was very easy to make - even the clothes! She even has legs that have a knee joint!!
I have also finished two patterns that I was testing for Ruth Singer - I'm loving the second one I did!! Sorry can't show you tho.

We spent the day in town today - I behaved myself in Waterstones and didn't buy any books!! How on earth did I manage that? Well I knew that I have quite a few books in my wish list that I'm waiting to be published, you see!
We went into Chappells the music shop - oh my! All those beautiful grand piano's, I am soo grateful to have been given one! We spent ages looking at all the sheet music and books and yes F+T came home with some great books and I bought the sheet music for Moon River! Well it 'looks' easy!
We finished off in good old John Lewis....4th floor - the best place to be!

new purchases

Just a quickie to show you what I bought for myself today!

I have a really bad cold so to cheer myself up, after spending hours in the Lego shop buying some fantastic and always needed bits for my nephews Birthday, I bought myself.........

I'm ashamed to say my slippers are older than F+T!! So when I saw these I knew they were the perfect replacements! Although I'm not sure I'd get away with turning up at friends houses in them like I did with my old ones!

And also a beautiful leather purse. My purse has been clinging together for a few weeks now so I decided that it was time.....it was the most I've ever spent on a purse and I felt bad doing so but it is used every day isn't it??

I have to go for my piano lesson now - not really looking forward to it as I'm either shivering or boiling hot, have a very pathetic tickly cough and a need to keep tissues at the ready!
Hope you are all well!!

We had a great week last week in Winterton on Sea. For one - it didn't rain!! In fact we had a couple of very glorious days. Our house was lovely and the little gate at the end of the garden straight onto the sand dunes was perfect.

We had lovely days out in Cromer and went to Norwich Castle and Cathedral, both of which were fantastic.

A day spent at Wroxham Barns was a must - we bottle fed some calves and held guinea pigs, played 18 hole crazy golf which included a fair amount of cheating as some of them were darn hard and the queue behind us was getting longer! Best of all were these piglets!

Another day out was to the most fantastic place I think I've ever taken F+T! It's called Bewilderwood and if you are ever in Norfolk, you must go! It's a place were the Twiggles and Boggles live, there are tree houses, rope bridges, den building with logs and branches, huge slides, a maze and even a ferry to take you in and out!

This was our den - it even has seats outside around the campfire!!
Afternoon's were spent on the beach and every day a seal came to see us! I'd like to think it was the same seal but I really don't know! Obviously this is Ted - not the seal! Tomorrow F+T are back to school and I know it will take us at least a week to get into the swing of things again!
