a pint, a bit of snow and a give away!

It snowed here in London - did you know?
I love the snow, waking up yesterday was so exciting. We were soon off to build snowmen and sledge down the hill. Today it is definitely thawing which is the worst part of it all. F+T went off to school this morning - hoping so much that it would be closed!
Yesterday afternoon I sneaked off to a rather fab little pub The Red Lion to meet Nancy. We sat at the bar drinking our pints (mine was Milk stout and N's cider!) and I crocheted away whilst Nancy knitted. We started out with a huge 'get it off our chests' session and felt better for it. It is most definitely the way to go and we shall be sneaking off again!

a proper pint and crochet
Wanstead Flats
What can happen but thankfully didn't!
M getting attacked with giant snowballs. Look closely its bigger than his head!

It took longer than I planned to sew the button through the centre and then to photograph it but finally...
Ta Dah.... this could be for you!

Its a crocheted round cushion using super chunky wool and a beautiful button pulled in the centre - I've just realised I didn't photograph the back! But its plain black with a dimple where the button from the front has been sewn on tight.

Now I don't have many readers so there's a good chance of winning here but if you are a lurker then please do say hello!
So, leave me a message and tell me what your favourite drink at your local is. If you really, really want a pair of crocheted earmuffs then I might make you a pair to match the cushion!!
I'll randomly pick someone on Monday 13th February.

Hey, that is a lovely cushion, I would be delighted to win. And I would totally be up for crochet ear muffs- nothing not to love there! I am a G&T girl, and if there is sloe or damson gin around, so much the better! Laura

Every girl deserves a get it off her chest session and what better way to do it than with a great friend and crochet!!! I love your cushion it looks fab, the earmuffs sound good as I look dreadful in a hat this may be the way to go to keep warm!!! My tipple on a cold evening would be a jack Daniels and coke xxx

Hello I have just found your blog it's lovely and so is the cushion. My new years resolution is to learn a new craft and I have just started to crochet when it's cold outside I like a glass of mulled wine with fresh orange and lemon slices just the ticket on these cold winter evenings x

Well before moving 'oop North' I wouldn't have dreamt of drinking a pint of anything!! Now however I'm quite partial to a pint of cider in the summer and recently discovered Guinness for the first time, but only as a half! My regular tipple of choice would still be a glass of the pink stuff, as for what size glass, well that depends on my mood!! :o) The cushion is beautiful! I cannot believe you're giving it away!!

Well it would have to be the ear muffs for me! The cushion looks great and as a recipient of your crochet... A scarf, I know it will be beautifully made. So many people admire my scarf. I have worn it all winter....oh yes and mine will be a cider!

oh favorite drink, the last time I was in a pub I had a cup of tea! But would normally have a gin and bitter lemon. Beautiful cushion, would love to enter!

Ooooh! Love the cushion. We also had lots of fun in the snow, sadly no drinking involved but if I had it would be a bottle of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale for me. YUM!!!

My favourtie tipple, when I get out and about (a 2 year has lessened the times it happens) is gin and tonic....yum or a really fruity red wine.

Everyone has had snow apart from us! Bah!
Loving your big squishy cushion, it's a beauty. And also loving the fact that you have a pub where you can sit at the bar knitting and crocheting.Tipple of choice down the pub for me is pear cider in the summer, mulled wine in the winter.I like to be seasonal!x
